| The Crusader cross long predates Christianity. Essentially and originally the cross derives from the natural phenomenom of two crossed sticks. The Maltese or Templar Cross is really a stylistic variation from this, to four wedge shapes facing each other. The equilateral cross aalso relates to the balaance of the four elements by the fifth, Spirit, which emerges from the four elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air. | ||||||||||||
