CHAINS

We can easily order just about any chain in 14kt gold or sterling silver that you'd like.
  • However, we've found that there are only a few styles of chain that really fit with the bas relief (flat on the bottom, rounded or built up on the top) style of most of our jewelry.
  • On the next page you'll find our suggestions for silver chains.
  • We always make sure that we use the highest quality findings on our chains. We always solder all open links. The jewelry trade has a nasty habit of not soldering important links on chains and using spring clasps. Spring clasps can't be soldered (they have a little steel spring within them which loses its temper) and frequently break. We use lobster clasps where the strongest part of the clasp is the part that gets the most wear.
  • Since we make most of our chains from spooled chain, we can cut them any length you want, We'll even cut to fractions of inches.
  • In terms of length, most women wear 16" chains as short chains. This is too short for many men or is a choker length. 18" usually means that a medallion will rest on the collar bone easily visible with an open collar shirt on men, an inch or two lower on most women. 22" and 24" lengths are the top of the chest on men, and between the breasts on women.
  • There is a huge variation in size in human beings. If you'd like to be certain and don't have a chain use string or a ribbon and measure the length that way.
  • Email us if you want a gold chain or a silver style that you don't see on the next page.
